The Fletcher Junction Property is located five miles north of the 1.9M Oz Aurora Mining District and eight miles west of the 0.6M Oz Borealis Mine, in the Aurora mining district within the Walker Lane Gold Trend, a regional alignment of major gold deposits that have produced over 17 MMOz of gold. The high-grade gold deposits within the Aurora District are controlled by a complex set of extensional structures that project beneath the Fletcher Junction Property. The target has not been explored to date because it is covered, and thus hidden from view, by 50’ to 100’ of post-mineral basalt cover.
The Fletcher Junction target was identified as part of the 2004 groundwater chemistry reconnaissance program and was completely open for staking. NGE now controls the entire target with a land position consisting of a contiguous block of 342 unpatented lode claims (11.0 square miles).
Follow-up groundwater, vegetation, and soil sampling have all reported highly anomalous gold. Quartz vein boulders collected along the edge of the 4 mile long target zone have reported gold up to 2.9 oz/t (90.5 g/t).
